Statue of Unity is an engineering marvel built by one of India's top engineering firms L and T to honor the iron man of India - Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The place is well managed by the government and has security personnel at every 50 to 100 feet. It has horizontal/vertical escalators as well as steps, mini-clinic, restaurant, and many other facilities. The free water facility is situated inside the statue. Folks also sell drinking water outside the statue. In the front os SOU, there's a food court that sells beverages, sandwiches, ice creams, burgers (subway) and various other snacks. The snacks are reasonably priced. When you can reach the top, you can see the things the statue is made of. The lift can accommodate up to 26 people at a time. Other tourist places are located nearby the statue. You can reach them via bus. The statue gets hot in the afternoon. The scenery in all directions is beautiful. SOU is thus a great place to capture photos.
